After teaching courses ranging from contemporary United States History to ninth and tenth grade survey classes for six years, history teacher Dr. Andrew Trees will be leaving the school.

While Trees said he “still figuring out” his plans for next year, he said he hopes to continue teaching. Trees wrote the novel Academy X during his time at the school. He said he does not plan to write a sequel.

“The students are smart and very sophisticated in their ability to analyze things,” said Trees. “It’s enjoyable having conversations with them about history because they bring all those talents to bear in the classroom.”
