Playing a teenager obsessed with his mother’s medical case study, Charlie Brown complaining about lunchtime, and a husband dissatisfied with his marriage, Jed Feiman (12) tests his ability to portray a range of characters at the Acting Seminar’s Contemporary Scene/Monologue showings this Wednesday.

“Adopting three completely different characters with their own vocal expressions and gestures was the most challenging for me,” said Feiman. To perfect his performances, Feiman analyzed the scenes based on the character’s desires.

Jessica Schleider (12), who will portray a woman fleeing the Holocaust, in addition to other roles, focused on keeping in character while gesticulating while acting. “When I’m on stage, I forget that my hand gesture is something that I would do, not that my character would do,” she said.
