In addition to cramming for AP’s and tossing Frisbees on the field, each spring students anxiously await the decisions that determine their future involvement in clubs and publications. The announcements of leadership positions follow applications processes that range from informal and minor to ones that include interviews, written components, or “junior issues” for publications.

In many clubs, the current officers choose the next year’s officers; in others, voting processes include the participation of all club members.

The current Senior Editorial Board decides the editorial board of The Review, the school’s current events magazine, said Editor in Chief Kunal Malkani (12). Since The Review is a student publication, it is appropriate that student club leaders make decisions, especially since they “have become familiar with kids over the course of the year,” said Malkani.
