Eisenberg attributed some of the goals to “Rocket” and “Surhoff,” new plays the team has been practicing to confuse opponents during games. “‘Rocket’ is when one person stands behind the goal and two people create a screen in front of the goal,” Eisenberg said. Although the team did not play defense well in the first-half, “we had a lot of good breakaways and played good defense by the second-half,” Burris said.
Team coaches Caroline Surhoff and Keri Hall recently incorporated the offensive “Rocket” and “Surhoff” plays into the team’s strategy because the team dynamic is so strong, Hall said. Although the plays are challenging, the team also used an isolation play called “Princeton” in a recent game to score a goal.
